Role summary
The Documentation Coordinator supports the legal and compliance function by keeping records organized, current, and easy to retrieve. This role helps maintain the documentation discipline behind contracts, governance materials, policy records, and internal control evidence.
This position suits someone who is exceptionally organized and comfortable working with formal records. The role requires strong attention to detail, methodical file management, and the ability to support multiple stakeholders while preserving consistency and traceability.
Compensation
LKR 55,000 - LKR 75,000 / month
Compensation is shared for transparency and is reviewed alongside scope, level, and location alignment during hiring.
Responsibilities
- Maintain document repositories, naming conventions, version histories, and retrieval standards for legal and compliance materials.
- Coordinate document intake, status tracking, approval-file organization, and archive management.
- Support updates to templates, policy packs, clause libraries, and reference materials.
- Check documentation for completeness, formatting consistency, and correct routing before handoff or storage.
- Assist internal teams with document retrieval, submission packaging, and record support requests.
- Identify documentation gaps or inconsistent filing practices and escalate them through the correct process.
Required qualifications
- Diploma or bachelor's degree in administration, business, law, information management, or a related discipline.
- 1+ year of experience in documentation, records management, legal administration, or structured coordination work.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational discipline.
- Comfort working with document repositories, trackers, and formal filing processes.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
Preferred experience
- Experience supporting legal, compliance, procurement, or governance teams.
- Exposure to records retention, formal filing standards, or controlled documentation environments.
- Experience with shared drives, document systems, or workflow trackers.
- Working knowledge of Sinhala or Tamil in addition to English.
